i think the term “mary sue” has become way overused but i think it does have times where it makes sense
like you can’t say that because the term has gotten beaten to death, doesn’t mean it’s not applicable to, say, ebony dark’ness dementia raven way or the original ensign sue
I think the main traits of a mary sue are that a character ISN’T well rounded but DOES constantly have the spotlight on them. Most of the rules in this graphic hardly constitute what a sue is at all, just what the definition of sue has become
yes it is fair to point out that some people cry sue far too quickly, but it’s also fair to say that vapid and flat characters who are “super special” in a way that doesn’t fit on to the universe DO exist and that they can be considered sues (trust me. i wrote one.
an avatar fanfic back in the day with “aangs twin sister who was also the avatar!!!!”)Though i have to also point out that the people who usually write real mary sues are preteen to young teenagers who aren’t good at character development just yet.
tl;dr sues can exist, though not in the mass that some people may believe. the people who write sues probably don’t know any better and are probably writing the fic for their own gratification anyway.
A RP group which requires to “make your OC Mary Sue” instead of otherwise might be fun—-no one will be able to tell the difference with your normal RP group which states “NO MARY SUE/GARY STU” in their rules I think.

It was brought o my attention that the official Shingeki no Kyojin website has yonkoma comics to go with each episode summary. Problem is, they only stay online during the week of their respective episode. But luckily for you I am quite the tracking dog, so I was able to sniff them out nonetheless!
